Q. What is the cost For a Professional Residential Home
Inspection..?
A. We provide value added services which are normally
charged for separately. These services are included as part of our inspection process. It
would be an unfair advantage to post fees on our website. However, we can say that our pricing arrangement
is based upon a preset charge for a specific number of bedrooms per structure,
and for bedrooms in excess of that number. Please call (516) 375-7356
for your Professional Home Inspection estimate.
Q. Do you provide Termite Inspections?
A. We consider the science of termite inspection a discipline
of its own. If during the course of our onsite evaluation we discover evidence
of wood destroying organisms we will advise that the condition be evaluated by a qualified, licensed, and insured pest control
specialist. There are many Inspection companies that offer termite inspection
for an additional fee, but very few are qualified, insured, or licensed to mitigate a condition that they
discover.
Therefore we advise that you acquire the services of a qualified, licensed, and insured Pest Control Professional
Service for evaluation of the property if there is concern of infestation. If discovered the condition can be remediated
by those with the authority to utilize the appropriate pesticides or techniques. They may also provide you with an opportunity
for warranties, guarantees, or a contract for additional services, all of which may even be transferable for under certain
circumstances.
Q.
Do you test for Mold or mildew?
A. We provide sampling and forwarding to our subcontracted certified laboratory where the results are determined. An independent lab report will then be sent to you and
results are usually available within 72 hours. Call us for further Information...

Q. After I have Retained The SURE-LOCK HOMES® INSPECTION AGENCY to Provide My Professional Home Inspection is there any thing else that I can do to make
this a successful Home Inspection..?
A. Yes there is... the following is a small list of
Items that will help to ensure a successful Professional Home Inspection:
Tips for a
Smooth Home Inspection…
· Please
make sure that access to the house is provided, either by means of a lock box, your realtor, the buyer's realtor, you being
there, the seller, or the property owner.
· Please make sure that all persons present are aware of the duration
of time that will be required for the completion of the Home Inspection and for the time required for the Client & Inspector Walk
Through Disclosure Phase.
· Please make sure that the home owner of the premises is aware that all systems will be tested. First time home sellers may feel that their privacy is being invaded.
· Please
make sure that all parts of the house are accessible and visible, including closets, access panels, attic, crawl
spaces, etc., and that vehicles have been removed from the garage, and driveways, Patio covers removed, etc. Personal
Items should be moved away from walls if possible.
· Please
make sure that all utilities are on, and the pilot lights are lit, etc. Since a
home inspection involves examining all major systems and appliances, failure to do this may require a re-visit to the house
to complete the inspection.
· Please
arrange to keep all pets restrained during the inspection.
· Please
share
any pertinent information that you know about the home with the inspector. This includes both the good and the bad. For example,
if it comes to your attention that the present owner has just put in a new hot water heater last month, let the inspector
know. Likewise, if the bathtub leaks because it needs to be re-caulked, that also should be pointed out to the inspector,
etc.
· Please
share by all means, any personal concerns with respect to the inspection of the property or personal requests for additional
information prior to the start of the inspection. If a concern arises during
the inspection, please bring it to the attention of the inspector when it can be conveyed at your discretion, in privacy.
· Please make sure your inspector knows the extent of your confidentiality if other than the default. The default is that only you, the Client
will be apprised of any information throughout the inspection, i.e. This excludes
all persons, agents, seller, buyers’ agent, contractors, etc.
